Cursina-3 Curcuma Variety


SUPERIOR VARIETY OF ESTATE CROPS – Cursina-3 Curcuma (Curcuma xanthorriza roxburghii) is a result of individual selection from Majalengka. This Variety has an oblong elliptic leaf shape, 3-6 plantlets, 56-95 cm leaf length, 17-24 cm leaf width, green upper leaves and light green lower leaves, 8-11 leaves/plant. The rhizome has a rather conical shape,  light brown skin. yellow-dark orange flesh, and 500-1.200 g weight/clump. The average rhizome production is 21-31 tons/ha.

The superiority of this variety lies on its contents, i.e. 5.22% curcuminioid, 6.47% volatile oil, 0.97% xanthorizol, 48.9% starch, 5.74% ash, and 2.51% fiber. The average rhizome production achieved is 21-31 tons/ha.

It is potential to be used commercially and developed as the raw materials for drink and herbal medicine industries.
