ICECRD ACTIVITIES – Drug trafficking is increasingly widespread in Indonesia, the types are increasingly diverse. Realizing this, the Indonesian Center For Estate Crops Research and Development (ICECRD) also invited the National Narcotics Agency to hold a socialization on Prevention, Eradication and Combating Drug Abuse (P4GN) at the Display Building, Tuesday, June 16, 2021.
The event was opened by the direction of the Head of the ICECRD, Ir. Syafaruddin, Ph.D. In his directive, he expressed his hope that this socialization could make the employees of the ICECRD more alert and careful in dealing with these additives.
“Sometimes we don’t realize that around us there are things that can plunge us into drugs. Hopefully everyone can absorb today’s material and be more careful in the future, including in protecting our families and children from falling prey to drugs,” he said.
The material entitled “The Role of the Ministry of Agriculture in P4GN Efforts” was delivered by a BNN extension worker, Gino Prasodjo, SE. He explained the dangers and impacts that may arise when someone is addicted to drugs, ranging from addiction, loss of self-control, to loss of life. According to him, this is important so that we want to think again and refuse when invited to try the illicit goods.
Gino also reminded us not to hesitate to report if we know there are drug users and dealers around us. Moreover, drug abuse is actually more committed by private and government workers (56%) than unemployed (19%). It takes good cooperation between the community and the government in eradicating drugs in Indonesia. (Anjas)
