Synergy And Research Collaboration Between ICECRD With NRIA

ICECRD ACTIVITIES – Indonesian Center For Estate Crops Research and Development (ICECRD) received a visit from the National Research and Innovation Agency (NRIA) in order to increase synergy and collaboration of researchers related to the development of plantation crop commodities. The Research Team for the Center for Biotechnology – OR PPT NRIA led by Irni Furnawanthi SP., M.Si, accompanied by Linda Novita, S.Si., M.Si, Kasandra Budiarni, S.Si., Mardoni Elya, Tati Sukarnih received by Sudarsono SE (Sub-Coordinator for Utilization of Research Results) and Dr. Sri Suhesti, SP, MP (Researcher of the ICECRD) with the KSPHP staff of the ICECRD.

The event began with remarks and a welcome greeting to the Research Team of the NRIA Biotechnology Center by the PHP Sub Coordinator and continued with the screening of the ICECRD’s profile video. The Head of the ICECRD, Ir Syafaruddin, Ph.D. appreciated the visit of BRIN which has a strategic role for the reset and innovation ecosystem in Indonesia. The ICECRD is always ready and makes every effort to cooperate in the field of research and development of plantation commodities, including collaborating with NRIA.

Irni Furnawanthi SP., M.Si, also apologized from the Head of the Center for Biotechnology – NRIA (Dr.rer.nat. Anis H. Mahsunal. M.Sc.), who could not attend and convey his greetings. Irni hopes that researchers from the ICECRD can integrate and collaborate with BRIN because every research must involve outside agencies. For example, if there are 6 researchers in one proposal, a maximum of 3 people may be from NRIA, while the other 3 must be from government or private partners.

Hesti also appreciated the visit of the NRIA Research Team, and explained the Profile of the Laboratory of the Agricultural Superior Seed Management Unit (UPBUP), IAARD which was the main purpose of the visit of the NRIA Research Team.

After the discussion, the Research and Development team of the ICECRD Team of the Center for Biotechnology – OR PPT BRIN visited the UPBUP Laboratory. There, guests received an explanation of the techniques for seed propagation of plantation commodities, including: sugar cane, patchouli, vanilla, dates, coconut, cashew nuts through tissue culture techniques. It is hoped that the visit will open up opportunities for research collaboration between the ICECRD and NRIA for the advancement of research in the plantation sector in Indonesia. (ANJAS)
