ICECRD NEWS – Rosella herbal plants ( Hibiscus sabdariffa var. sabdariffa) produce flower petals that are beneficial for health, namely: black, purple, red, green and white rosella . All of these are used because of their high content of vitamin C and amino acids, as well as other important nutrients such as herbal foods/healthy drinks. Black, purple and red rosella flowers contain anthocyanins, while green and white rosella flowers do not contain anthocyanins.
The petals (calyx) are part of the flower and will become larger and thicker to cover the fruit after pollination. This part of the flower petals is the main product of the Rosella herb because it contains nutrients for health.
