ICECRD ACTIVITIES – The Indonesian Center For Estate Crops Research and Development (ICECRD) is always committed to expanding the dissemination of technology and innovations to various stakeholders, either through exhibitions, technical guidance, publications, or collaboration with other parties. This is evidenced by the signing of three cooperation agreements (PKS) on Friday, September 24, 2021.
Two of them collaborate with universities, namely Pasir Pengaraian University (UPP) and Pattimura University (Unpatti). The purpose of collaboration with educational institutions is to support the development of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and the implementation of the Independent Learning-Independent Campus (MBKM) Program.
Various kinds of activities will be carried out as a form of follow-up to the cooperation. These include internship/PKL programs, guest lecturer programs, assistance in implementing the results of plantation technology innovations, etc. As a first step, a public lecture has also been held in conjunction with the signing of the PKS.
In addition to universities, the ICECRD also signed a PKS with the Medan Oil Palm Research Center. The plan is that they will collaborate in research and development of oil palm commodities, publication of research results, implementation of technical guidance and assistance to oil palm farmers, etc.
Head of the ICECRD, Ir. Syafaruddin, Ph.D, positively welcomed the signing of the PKS. “I am very proud to be able to collaborate, partner with ladies and gentlemen. We as a research institution are always ready to accept younger students who will do internships, conduct research, or participate in our technical guidance later,” he said.
“PPKS has always been a benchmark for us in conducting oil palm research. I hope this is not just a signing on paper, but there is an implementation. In the future, we must immediately see what concrete steps we have to take next,” continued Mr. Kapus.
Until this news was revealed, there had been 8 PKS signed during 2021. Previously, the ICECRD had signed PKS with the Regency Government. Central Lampung, PT CME, Faculty of Bioindustry, Trilogy University, PT RMI, and Kapok Japan. (Anjas)
