The Head of the ICECRD in his presentation delivered six outlines which included: (1) the policy scope of the ICECRD, (2) Independent Learning-Independent Campus, (3) Support for the ICECRD, (4) Sarpras and Technological Innovation within the scope of the ICECRD, (5) The flagship product of the ICECRD, (6) the Center for Excellence in Science and Technology, the ICECRD. He emphasized the importance of the role of research institutions, especially the ICECRD in producing technological innovations to be utilized for the progress of the nation through research activities, especially with universities.

The ICECRD together with 4 technical implementing units (UPT) under it, namely: Indonesian Spice & Medicinal Crops Research Institute (ISMCRI) in Bogor, Indonesian Sweetener & Fiber Crops Research Institute (ISFCRI) in Malang, Indonesian Palm Crops Research Institute (IPCRI) in Manado, and The Indonesian Industrial & Bevarages Crops Research Institute (IIBCRI) in Sukabumi, also has the task of disseminating technology results to the public, especially to universities, said the Head of the Research Center.

Previously the Dean of Faperta UNTIRTA Prof. Dr. Ir. Nurmayulis, MP. , in his speech said that this event is very important because the implementation of this MBKM activity involves outside parties as partners who are bound through a cooperation agreement, one of which is the ICECRD. The implementation of the MBKM curriculum at UNTIRTA takes many forms, including internships, work practices, research, studies or independent projects. There are also entrepreneurial activities, credit transfers, teaching assistantships, humanitarian projects and village building or thematic real work lectures. These activities will have academic recognition/equivalent assessment.

This MBKM activity has an attraction for students, especially allowing for the conversion of thesis courses. There are things that need to be underlined is that thesis courses cannot be used as savings. For example, a student at smtr 5 does an internship which is converted to a thesis and saved for the thesis credit to be used at the end of the study period.

At the end of the general lecture, the Head of Department and the Dean hope that student internships/PKL activities and research collaborations can be realized soon. So that students are able to complete their studies in accordance with the time and are able to produce the expected learning, namely having adequate and high knowledge and skills. (Bur/Web Team).
