ICECRD INFO – Stevia plants are very easy to cultivate and can be harvested 6-8 times a year. Optimal harvest time is before the emergence of flowers. Post-harvest handling of stevia plants is very easy and simple, just pick the leaves as in tea plants.

Currently, there are several areas for the development of stevia plants in Indonesia, including Ciwidey, Bandung Regency, West Java, Tamangmangu, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java and Batu City, East Java. The availability of land for stevia cultivation in Indonesia is still very wide, especially by utilizing unused and suboptimal land at an altitude of 700-1500 m above sea level which is suitable for the growth of stevia plants. Some of the land has the potential to be used for stevia development.
