ICECRD ACTIVITIES – Bogor, November 2, 2020. The Indonesian Spice & Medicinal Crops Research Institute (ISMCRI) as one of the UPT Centers for Indonesian Center For Estate Crops Research and Development, the Research and Development Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture received a visit from PT Sido Muncul in the context of exploring the initiation of collaboration on medicinal plants as herbal raw materials . This activity was opened by the Head of ISMCRI Dr.Evi Savitri Iriani, M.Si accompanied by the Head of the Technical Services Section, the Medicinal Plant Program, and the ISMCRI Researchers and the ISMCRI Cooperation Team.
In his speech, the Head of ISMCRI Dr. Evi Savitri Iriani, M.Sc. convey ISMCRI with PT. Sido Muncul can work together in various fields including, as a source of seed producers, producing technology in the form of superior varieties, SOPs and GAP. In addition, ISMCRI can function as a seed producer for Sumber and PT. SIdo emerged as a breeder to develop in the appropriate area. ISMCRI is open to work together to produce superior varieties needed by PT. Sido Muncul. Currently, ISMCRI has 7 Experimental Gardens scattered in various places with different heights above sea level, so that they can support research in the context of acclimatization and further research, “said Dr. Evi Savitri
Cultivation R&D Manager PT. Sido Muncul Mr. Bambang Supartoko conveyed that the presence of ISMCRI can provide input regarding superior varieties that can be used, SOP and GAP, and can work together to produce superior varieties of medicinal plants, especially places to grow that produce plants with the best active substance content. ISMCRI can be a source of superior seeds/seedlings and cooperate in supporting the development of nursery seed programs in the factory area by implementing smart farming, so as to obtain varietal stability (variety purity), quality stability and production quantity per hectare. In the availability of herbal raw materials. PT. Sido Muncul has produced 200 types of herbal medicine, using more than 160 types of plants in the form of roots, leaves and all parts of the plant, “he said.
It is hoped that with this collaboration the problems faced by PT. Sido Muncul regarding the availability of herbal raw materials that meet the standards is expected to be fulfilled and an MOU can be signed immediately as an umbrella for a more technical Cooperation Agreement. (Anjas)
