ICECRD ACTIVITIES -Head of Indonesian Center For Estate Crops Research and Development (ICECRD) Ir. Syafaruddin, Ph.D., together with the Head of the Indonesian Center for Animal Science Research and Development (ICASRD), Dr. drh. Agus Susanto, M.Sc., as well as the Head of the Indonesian Spice & Medicinal Crops Research Institute (ISMCRI), Dr. Ir. Evi Safitri Iriani, M.Si paid a working visit to the Agricultural Technology Research and Assessment Installation (IP2TP) Manoko Lembang, Bandung (22/01/2021). The agenda of this activity is to review the location of the revitalization and integration of citronella with cattle.

The visit was carried out to ensure that the superior cattle sent developed and adapted well. This visit is also used to explore the obstacles and problems in the technical management of maintenance or health of the livestock. Previously, the ICASRD had sent 17 superior cows consisting of 14 cows and 3 bulls through the Animal Research Institute (ARI) to IP2TP Manoko. These dairy cows are part of the cow and lemongrass integration model which has become the icon for Manoko’s Agro Tourism.

The Head ICECRD said that from the results of the diagnosis, cows need to get better nutrition and feed. This innovation needs to be accompanied by research and results.

The hope is that the revitalization and integration of cows with lemongrass can be a source of education for the community about essential plants (lemongrass) and cattle. In addition, through Manoko’s Agro Edu Wisata (AEW), the community can also get to know about essential plants, both in terms of types, cultivation, refining technology, and the use of refined waste into animal feed for cows.
