Head Of ICECRD Supports Indonesian Palm Crops Research Institute Laboratory

ICECRD ACTIVITY – Head of Indonesian Center For Estate Crops Research and Development (ICECRD) Ir. Syafaruddin, Ph.D. together with the team visited the laboratory of the Palma Research Institute (Indonesian Palm Crops Research Institute) in Manado, Tuesday, 28 Sep’21. One by one the laboratories were visited by the Head of Plantation Research and Development Center, who was accompanied by the Head of the Research Center for Palm Plants, Dr. Steivie Karouw, STP, M.Sc., and Program and Evaluation Coordinator Dr. Abdul Muis Hasibuan. Starting from the Tissue Culture Laboratory, seeing the coconut propagation activities through tissue culture and discussing with the kuljar researcher Ir. Jeanette Kumaunang, M.Sc., Meity A. Tulalo, SP.MP with technicians.

The visit continued with a visit to the Ecophysiology laboratory which was welcomed by the person in charge of Yulianus R. Matana, SP.M.Si. For information that the Ecophysiology Laboratory has been accredited to ISO 17025 as a Soil and Plant Tissue Testing laboratory and is currently conducting joint activities with interns from the Department of Soil Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Sam Ratulangi University, Manado.

While visiting the post-harvest, pest and disease laboratory and the Indonesian Palm Crops Research Institute library, Mr. Kapus really supports the activities of this laboratory which is planned to be accredited in the future. He also promised to help provide a budget to support laboratory facilities and equipment to complement and support the research activities of researchers and technicians of Indonesian Palm Crops Research Institute.
