ICECRD ACTIVITIES – Indonesian Center For Estate Crops Research and Development (ICECRD) as one of the echelon II research institutions at the Agricultural Research and Development Agency, apart from being required to produce plantation technology innovations, it also has the task of disseminating technological results to the public, especially to universities.
The Ministry of Education and Culture’s Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) program was initiated since 2019, universities are required to change the model and approach of the student learning and teaching process. Students are not only required to complete studies on campus, but also be able to do learning outside campus.
For this reason, universities are required to open access or a wide network of cooperation with various stakeholders in order to succeed and accelerate the MBKM program in achieving its main goals: (1) Improving the competence of graduates, both soft skills and hard skills, (2) Better prepared and relevant to the needs of the times, and (3) Preparing human resources for future leaders of the nation who are superior and with good personality.
In order to support this, the Faculty of Bioindustry, Trilogy University signed a Memorandum of Understanding with IAARD represented by the Head of the ICECRD online. The signing of the cooperation was witnessed by the Trilogy University academic community including the Board of Trustees, namely Prof. Haryono Suyono.
The Plantation Research and Development Center has prepared several follow-up activities, including: (1) Cooperation in the field of research, (2) Technology Dissemination, (3) Synergy of research programs and activities, (4) Technical guidance, (5) Scientific meetings and publications, ( 6) Technology transformation, (7) Internship/Practice Work, (8) supporting teaching and learning process, and (9) thesis and dissertation guidance.
In his opening remarks, the Chancellor Prof. Mudrajad Kuncoro expressed his gratitude for the quick response of the Head of IAARD in signing the MoU. The Chancellor hopes that Trilogy University will be able to synergize to support the MBKM program, not only with the Plantation Research and Development Center.
After the signing of the collaboration, the Head of the Center delivered a public lecture in front of more than 130 participants with the theme “Internship Opportunities and Activities and Research in the Scope of the ICECRD”. This is the 16th public lecture activity from 18 universities/faculties that have collaborated with the Plantation Research and Development Center during 2020-2021.
Previously, the Dean of the Faculty of Bioindustry, Dr. Inanpi Hidayati .S delivered a separate speech at the signing of the Cooperation Agreement with IPCRI as an echelon III unit under the ICECRD. The Dean hopes to be able to get a lot of things from the cooperation that has been carried out by the two parties, especially in research collaboration and improving the ability of teaching staff and students.
