Halina-2 Small White Ginger Variety


SUPERIOR VARIETY OF ESTATE CROPS – The superior variety of Halina-2 small white ginger is a futrher development of Halina-1. This variety comes from the development o accession  ZIOF-0050 and genotype code JPK-K released in 2006.

The average produktivity of the Halina-2 rhizome is 10,41 tons/ha. The starch, volatile oil, and crde fiber contents are not significantly different from those of Halina-1. The difference between these two varieties lics on the rhizome color, i.e. brownish for Halina-2 and dirty white for Halina-1. This variety is suitable to be developed with a commercial producer. Demands on the seeds for this ginger variety can be obtained at the Stock Seed Production Unit of the Aromatic and Herbal Medicine Research Institute.
