ICECRD ACTIVITIES – Friday, November 19, 2021. The Indonesian Spice & Medicinal Crops Research Institute (ISMCRI) in this case as the person in charge of the daily RPIK of spice plants, especially pepper commodities, has held a Focus Discussion Group (FGD) with stakeholders to restore the glory of pepper spice in Indonesia. To realize a pilot model of pepper cultivation, ISMCRI collaborated with the Department of Livestock and Plantation of Tanggamus Regency, Plantation Office of Lampung Province, Industry Office of Lampung Province, BP2MB of Lampung Province, so that pepper RPIK activities can run well. In this activity, Polinela University is also involved as the world of education which will directly deploy its students at the location points of the Spice RPIK activities. Other parties involved were the Lampung branch of the Indonesian Spice Council, the Lampung branch of Bank Tanggamus, the Indonesian Pepper Exporters Association.

While the Head of the Monev Team, Dr. Haryono conveyed suggestions and input to all those in charge of activities that the Spice RPIK activity is expected to transfer technology to users, and can be sustainable and environmentally friendly, changing the mindset of farmers to be smarter and able to increase their income and welfare.

Hopefully, the pepper commodity RPIK will be able to increase productivity and welfare results can be felt directly by farmers in the area. (anjas)
