IIBCRI Wins 5th Place In The Public Information Disclosure Award For The Ministry Of Agriculture

PLANTATION INFO – The Indonesian Industrial & Bevarages Crops Research Institute (IIBCRI) has won 5th place as the best Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) in Public Information Management Services within the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA). This ranking was achieved by Balittri in the 2020 Ministry of Agriculture’s Public Information Disclosure Award event. IIBCRI as a UPT under the Plantation Research and Development Center, Agricultural Research Agency, Ministry of Agriculture was given the task of carrying out research activities on industrial and refreshing plants including, Coffee, Cocoa, Rubber and tea. In addition, IIBCRI conducted research on Vegetable Oil Fuels.

Dr. Tri Joko Santoso, SP, M.Si as the Head of the Center said that this achievement is a manifestation of IIBCRI’s commitment as a Public Agency to provide easily accessible public information. Meanwhile, to guard the disclosure of information in IIBCRI, several Operational Standards for Implementation (SOP) for public information services have been made. “This prestigious award is a motivation to realize accountable information disclosure,” he said.

The Ministry of Agriculture through the Bureau of Public Relations and Public Information is again holding the Public Information Disclosure Award (PPID Award) in 2020. This prestigious award event aims to monitor and evaluate the implementation of Public Information disclosure in the Ministry’s Work Unit or Technical Implementation Unit (UK/UPT) within the scope of the Ministry of Agriculture. . PPID Award is an award to give appreciation to UK/UPT who have committed to improve the management and service of public information. The PPID Award assessment process is carried out strictly. The assessment period was carried out in a short period of time, from 15 May to 10 August 2020.

The assessment of the stages of public information disclosure consists of self-assessment, through filling out the Self Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ), public information disclosure through the website, optimizing the use of the PPID portal, Leadership Commitment in UK/UPT, and the last is visitation or interviews. The series of assessments were carried out by a competent team involved in public information disclosure in Indonesia, such as academics, practitioners, to observers from NGOs. All of the judges involved came from outside the ministry of agriculture, including Dr, J. Kritsiadi (CSIS Secretary), Tya Tirtasari M.Si (KIP Expert Staff), M. Yasin, SH, MH (Lecturer of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences UI), Astrid Debora Meliala , SH, MH (Member of Freedom of Information Network Indonesia).

Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Momon Rusmono, MS, said that despite the pandemic, the Ministry of Agriculture is always ready to support the national economy. Therefore, it needs to be supported by public information disclosure. For him, transparency is important in effective management. The involvement of public participation through open information will spur development acceleration. “What must be considered are the signs that are part of the disclosure of public information itself,” he said. By continuing to implement the health protocol, the event was held at the Theater Building, Agribusiness Information Center (PIA) of the Ministry of Agriculture. In addition, to reduce the number of crowds, the event was streamed via the Tani TV Youtube channel.
