SUPERIOR VARIETY OF ESTATE CROPS – Cursina-2 Curcuma (Curcuma xanthorriza roxburghii) is a result of individual selection from South Sumatra origin. This Variety has an oblong elliptic leaf shape, 3-6 plantlets, 57-87 cm leaf length, 17-21 cm leaf width, green upper leaves and light green lower leaves, 8-11 leaves/plant. This rhizome has an oval shape with light brown skin and yellow-orange flesh, an 640-1.300 g weight/clump.
This variety contains 4.59% curcuminioid, 8.49% volatile oil, 0.81% xanthorizol, 53.1% starch, 5.15% ash, and 2.71% – 3.3% fiber. The average rhizome production is 23-32 tons/ha and adaptable at altitute 400-800 m above sea level.
It is potential to be developed commercially as the raw materials for drink and herbal medicine industries.
