PLANTATION NEWS – PBZ application by watering the roots of the JPB plant, when the plants are four months after planting (BST) can increase seed rhizome production by 22% and the number of branch rhizomes by 68% and increase seed viability (growth power) by 30 % and the speed grew by 41%. The use of PBZ needs to be considered in providing ginger seeds as part of future ginger seed SOPs.
