VISION AND MISSION
Officially, somatic embryogenesis laboratory is managed by the Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Research and Development. However, daily activities has been entrusted to the Indonesian Centre for Estate Crops Research and Development (ICECRD). Aimed of the laboratory is to produce uniform superior agricultural seeds in a relatively short time and have the same properties as the parent.
Vision
To support the vision of the IAARD become World’s Best R & D Institute in Southeast Asia capable of producing agricultural innovation according to user needs. Through this vision the Laboratory is expected able to generate highly competitive seed multiplication technology
Mission
To produce strategic technologies through the improvement and multiplication of plant materials and increase the efficient use of resources to provide value-added of highly competitive farm products.
PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES
Programs and activities conducted at the Laboratory is doing plant propagation through tissue culture of various strategic agricultural commodities. For estate crops are Palm Oil, Cocoa, Coffee, Rubber, Sugar, Bio farmaka, Palma, as well as fiber and sweeteners. For food crops are rice, and beans, while for Hortikultuta are fruits, flowers, and vegetables. Other commodities are Teak and other
