SUPERIOR VARIETY OF ESTATE CROPS – Kanesia-11 variety released in 2007 is a new cotton variety suitable for the development of pesticide free cotton. The productivity of Kanesia-11 can reach more than 2 tons of seed cotton (1,705.4 – 2,478.0 kg/ha) without any insecticide treatment.
This variety contains 38.92% fiber with an average quality to be accepted by industries, i.e. fiber length of 27,98 mm, fiber strength of 27,77 g/tex, fiber softness of 4,5 mic, and fiber uniformity of 83,3%. Kanesia-11 is resistant to sucking pest Amrasca biguttula.
This variety has sufficiently good commercial value potency, thus it is suitbale to be licensed. The seedlings can be obtained at Stock Seed Production Unit of the Tobacco and Fiber Plants Research Institute.
