Estate Crops News – General Combining Ability (GCA) and Specific Combining Ability (SCA) are important in creating high yielding varieties. A parent having high GCA is appropriate to produce synthetic or composite varieties, while high SCA is to produce hybrid.
The research objective is to find out the informationa of parents combining ability in Jatropha curcas L. Research was conducted using dialled analysis. Ten genotypes i.e. 1 low yielding parent, 6 medium, and 3 high were used to generate F1 arrays with full diallel analysis.
